The Big Question:
How can we design an Energy Efficient Solution that is Sustainable?
What is a PBL?
b) What can happen to Energy?
c) How does Heat Energy cause problems?
There will be a Knowledge Test on Part 1 on Tuesday 30th August 2016
- PBL stands for Project- Based Learning. This means that students actively explore real-world problems and challenges. This project will also deepen student's understanding by providing many opportunities to TEACH each other. If you can truly teach each other then you truly understand the concepts.
- Lessons are open in structure however students will need to complete all practicals to enhance their learning.
- Each student will need to complete Part 1 and Part 2 of the PBL.
- Part 1: Students must produce a booklet with the concepts, practicals and exercises on the three focus questions:
b) What can happen to Energy?
c) How does Heat Energy cause problems?
There will be a Knowledge Test on Part 1 on Tuesday 30th August 2016
- Part 2: Each group will produce a Media Presentation of their Scientific Product to another Year 8 Science Classes in the Lecture Theatre in week 8 and 9 of this term. The Marking Criteria is provided in your booklet.
Part 1: Energy Booklet due Thursday 25th August 2016
